SALUS HAZOP AI is effective for facilitating HAZOP workshops in real time. It solves the workshop side of the HAZOP lifecycle. Pathnovo solves the post-workshop side: the 800–3,000 page study PDF produced after the workshop, historically unqueryable and tracked only in Excel. SALUS and Pathnovo are complementary: SALUS during the workshop, Pathnovo for the compliance, tracking, and audit workflow that follows.
Post-Workshop Extraction, Not Facilitation
SALUS runs alongside the live HAZOP session to support the facilitator. Pathnovo digitises the completed study PDF into a structured action register after the workshop concludes. These are different problems in the HAZOP lifecycle, solved by different tools.
Legacy Study Digitisation
Every operating plant has decades of HAZOP studies in PDF / Word / scanned form from pre-SALUS workshops. SALUS does not process these. Pathnovo digitises legacy archives into the live compliance register: typical backlog for an Indian PSU refinery is 20-80 studies across units.
P&ID Revision Mapping
SALUS captures actions at workshop time against the P&ID revision in effect then. Pathnovo maps every historical and current action against the current P&ID revision, flagging superseded nodes, deleted tags, and renamed equipment. Essential for ongoing compliance tracking.
OISD 118 / MoPNG Audit Pack Generation

Should I use SALUS or Pathnovo for HAZOP?
Both, depending on workflow stage. Use SALUS during active HAZOP workshops for facilitation support, deviation suggestion, and live action capture. Use Pathnovo for post-workshop extraction of completed study PDFs, legacy HAZOP digitisation, P&ID-revision mapping, OISD 118 compliance, and multi-study consolidation. The two tools address different moments in the HAZOP lifecycle.
Does Pathnovo replace SALUS?
No. Facilitation intelligence during the workshop itself is outside Pathnovo's scope: that is SALUS / Kairos territory. Pathnovo extracts from the completed study PDF after the workshop and runs the compliance / tracking / audit workflow from there. Many plants adopt SALUS prospectively for new workshops while using Pathnovo to digitise the existing legacy archive.
Why digitise HAZOP studies that are already complete?
Completed HAZOP study PDFs are unqueryable in their native form: action tracking happens in Excel, P&ID references get stale across revisions, closure evidence is scattered. OISD 118 audits require structured, current registers with demonstrable closure evidence. Pathnovo converts the PDF archive into a queryable register, maps every action to the current P&ID revision (flagging superseded nodes), and generates the audit pack on demand. For Indian operators this is the single most important safety-compliance automation workflow.
How many HAZOP studies can Pathnovo digitise?
No limit. Typical Indian PSU refinery backlog is 20-80 studies ranging from 200 to 3,000 pages each. Typical greenfield EPC generates 6-12 studies during FEED / detailed engineering. Pathnovo processes on the order of 48-96 hours per study with 99%+ accuracy.
Can Pathnovo extract from SALUS-generated HAZOP output directly?
Yes. If a workshop was facilitated with SALUS, the output is already structured. Pathnovo ingests SALUS (or Kairos) output directly for the downstream compliance / tracking / audit layer: no re-extraction needed. Clients running facilitation tools forward add Pathnovo for compliance and audit automation on top.
