Auto-generate complete weld schedules, NDE (non-destructive examination) plans, and PWHT (post-weld heat treatment) requirements directly from isometric drawing data. Every weld joint identified by joint ID, classified by type (butt / socket / fillet / threaded), sized, matched to material combination, assigned to the correct WPS (welding procedure specification), and tagged with NDE method and percentage. ASME B31.1 / B31.3 / B31.4 / B31.8, EN 13480, and ASME Section IX compliant. Works on any isometric format (scanned PDF, CAD export, ISOGEN, PDS) with no 3D model required.
Every weld joint on the isometric identified with joint ID (unique per line / spool), type (butt, socket, fillet, threaded, branch, O-let), size, schedule, material combination (pipe-to-pipe, pipe-to-fitting, pipe-to-flange), field-vs-shop classification, and support location. Joint-level traceability maintained from isometric through fabrication, NDE, and commissioning.
Correct welding procedure specification (WPS) automatically assigned based on material grade, wall thickness, joint configuration, and project welding procedure register. ASME Section IX qualified WPS matched; PQR (procedure qualification record) linkage validated. IBR-scoped welds flagged with IBR-approved WPS requirement.
NDE method (RT for radiography, UT for ultrasonic, MT for magnetic particle, PT for liquid penetrant, VT for visual, PAUT for phased array) and inspection percentage (10%, 25%, 100%) assigned per project NDE specification and applicable code (ASME B31.3 Normal / Category D / Severe Cyclic, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.4 pipelines, B31.8 gas transmission, EN 13480 process piping).
Post-weld heat treatment requirements derived from material grade, wall thickness, and code (ASME B31.3 Table 331.1.1, ASME Section I PW-39). Temperature, soak time, and heating / cooling rate per material. PWHT exemption conditions applied where thickness or chemistry permits.
Each weld joint classified as field weld or shop weld based on isometric annotation, spool break, and fabricability. Spool-level rollup produces the shop-fabrication scope; field weld list drives site welding resource planning.
Cross-reference weld joints against welder qualification records. Each weld joint requires a welder qualified on the correct WPS, position, thickness range, and material. Gaps surfaced: welders needing re-qualification, WPS requiring additional welders, positions with inadequate coverage.
Weld map, spool drawing BOM, weld schedule by spool, NDE request sheet, PWHT schedule, and welder assignment matrix exported in fabrication-shop-ready format (Excel, PDF, PCF, IDF, or direct feed to shop ERP such as Bentley AutoPIPE, Intergraph SmartPipe, L&T LFMS, Larsen & Toubro Fabcon).
Every weld joint carries full traceability from isometric → WPS → welder → NDE → PWHT → hydrotest → mill certificate of material used. Supports IBR Form IV register for IBR-scoped welds. See /solutions/procurement-intelligence/mill-certificate for material linkage.

ASME B31.3 (process piping: Normal, Category D, Severe Cyclic services), ASME B31.1 (power piping), ASME B31.4 (liquid pipelines), B31.8 (gas transmission), B31.9 (building services), EN 13480 (European process piping), ASME Section I (boilers), ASME Section VIII Division 1 (pressure vessels), AWS D1.1 (structural steel), and project-specific NDE specifications. Custom code tables configured per project.
ASME Section IX (BPVC Welding and Brazing Qualifications), EN ISO 15614 (welding procedure qualification), EN ISO 9606 (welder qualification), AWS D1.1, and IBR-approved WPS tables for Indian pressure equipment scope. Project-specific welding procedure registers loaded at kickoff. PQR linkage validated to confirm each WPS is qualified for the intended production use.
PWHT requirements are derived from ASME B31.3 Table 331.1.1 (process piping), ASME Section I PW-39 (power boilers), ASME Section VIII Division 1 UCS-56 / UHT-56 (pressure vessels), and EN 13480 for European piping. Material grade (P1, P3, P4, P5, P6, P7, P8, P9, P10, P15E, P23, P24, etc.) and wall thickness determine required temperature, soak time, and heating / cooling rates. Exemption conditions (e.g. austenitic stainless steel, thin-wall carbon steel under 19mm) applied automatically.
Yes. IBR-scoped welds (on boilers, pressure vessels, and piping above IBR thresholds) are tagged specifically. Only IBR-approved WPS are assigned, welder qualification validates IBR Form VIII acceptance, and Chief Inspector of Boilers stamping requirement is flagged. The register feeds directly into /compliance/ibr for IBR Form IV maintenance.
Weld map (annotated isometric), weld schedule register (Excel / CSV with joint-by-joint rows), spool drawing BOM, NDE request sheet, NDE plan summary (percentage tables), PWHT schedule with grouping by heat-treat batch, welder assignment matrix, and fabrication shop work order. Direct integration with fabrication shop ERP (AutoPIPE, SmartPipe, LFMS, Fabcon) available on request.
A typical process unit (100 isometrics, 2,000 weld joints) is returned with complete weld schedule, NDE plan, PWHT requirements, and welder matrix within 48 hours. Large EPC projects (500+ isometrics, 10,000+ welds) delivered in 1-2 weeks with dedicated capacity. For fabrication shops needing shop-loading data for tomorrow's shift, 24-hour turnaround available.
