Yes. Partial datasheets (where 30-60% of fields are populated from a prior revision or vendor submission) are accepted as input and cross-referenced against P&IDs, process specifications, and existing datasheets to fill missing fields. Gaps that cannot be resolved from source documents are flagged for engineering clarification rather than auto-filled. Provenance for every populated field is preserved with bounding-box evidence on the source document.
Exotic instrument types (Coriolis mass flowmeters, magnetic-inductive flowmeters, guided-wave radar, tunable diode laser analysers, ultrasonic clamp-on flow, online gas chromatographs) carry vendor-specific datasheet templates from Emerson Micro Motion, Endress+Hauser, Krohne, Rosemount, Yokogawa, ABB, Siemens. Each vendor template is pre-configured. Type-specific field sets (e.g. tube material, sensor coil for Coriolis; antenna type and dielectric for radar) are recognised and extracted correctly.
Generic document AI tools (Azure Document Intelligence, AWS Textract, Google Document AI) extract text but lack engineering domain depth: they do not recognise ISA 5.1 functional identification, they cannot validate chemistry or mechanicals against ASME Section II, and they do not know the relationship between a datasheet field and its source P&ID tag.
